CareerSource Florida is the state’s innovative partnership for workforce training. Many of the programs and services of the workforce partnership are implemented by regional workforce boards—the NFEDP region is served by five regional workforce boards including North Florida Workforce Development Board, Florida Crown Workforce Board, Inc., First Coast Workforce Development, Inc., Alachua/Bradford FloridaWorks, and Workforce Connection. These regional workforce boards assist existing and new companies with recruiting, screening, training, and maintaining cutting edge skills, and keeping pace with emerging technologies. The Quick Response Training (QRT) and Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) Programs are valued and frequently utilized programs by expanding and relocating businesses. The NFEDP provides on behalf of its 15 counties, and other Public and Private Partners, comprehensive marketing and promotion of the 15-county North Central Florida, Extensive marketing efforts are pursued through its website, through its hosting of and participation in site selection consultant events, participation and networking opportunities at Florida Economic Development Council and International Economic Development Council conferences and events, and Enterprise Florida-sponsored events and activities.
The NFEDP develops and offers regional training programs, webinars, and serves as a primary disseminator of relevant economic development information for its member Partners. Foremost is the NFEDP’s offering of a highly substantive and popular North Florida Economic Development Academy. Moreover, through its Rural Regional Development Grant (RRDG) and Partner support, the NFEDP provides Scholarships to local economic development professionals, elected officials, and others critical to the regional economic development efforts in North Central Florida.
