Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) located three (3) miles northeast of the center of Gainesville in Alachua County and only minutes away from the University of Florida serves North Central Florida. GNV offers flights through American (American Eagle) and Delta Air Lines offering direct flights to U.S. hubs, with convenient connections which produce over 400,000 travelers each year. The Port of Fernandina provides terminal service to numerous pulp and paper producers located throughout Florida and the Southeast while providing steel export services to several steel companies with mills in the Southeast. The Port of Fernandina supports a number of independent container lines serving Ecuador and Bermuda. The port’s principal cargo includes exports of steel products (including billets, coils beams and rebar), machinery, forest products (including kraft linerboard, logs and treated lumber), corrugated cardboard waste, and building and construction material, as well as imports of wood pulp, hardboard and building materials.
In addition, containerized commodities moving through the port include wood pulp, automobile and truck parts, lumber, chemicals, beverages, food and chilled goods, machinery, consumer goods and building materials.
