North Florida Economic Development Partnership

Today, People, Families and Companies are Returning to Nature. In North Florida, We Never Left It.

The world’s best diving in caves and deep springs. Florida’s nature coast. Deep forests and rich farmlands. Orange groves, scenic rivers and quaint downtowns. This is a beautiful place to work and play.

North Florida is home to the world’s largest concentration of natural deep water springs. There is an abundance of pristine rivers offering the best fishing in the Southeast. Enjoy hunting, birding, hiking or kayaking through unspoiled lands and waters. Our region is also home to many historical, turn-of-the-century towns with downtowns that are perfect for walking and shopping.

Location and Climate:

North Floridians enjoy moderate temperatures all year long, with less risk for hurricanes than neighboring coastal cities (our region is #2 in solar farm production in the U.S.). And because Florida borders Georgia and Alabama, much of our culture, language and foods have the relaxed, charming flavor of the Deep South.

Cost of Living:

While businesses benefit from a low cost of doing business in North Florida, residents of the region find the cost of living very affordable, as well. North Florida is well known for its highly advantageous cost of living, and that includes affordable housing for workers and their families. Residents enjoy low state and local taxes along with no personal state income tax.

Education and Training:

You’ll find excellent public and private, K-12 schools throughout North Florida. In addition, strategic partnership programs serve our school districts to ensure that our citizens can grow into jobs – and companies can find the current and future employees they need.

Higher Education:

North Florida is home to two internationally acclaimed research universities, Florida State University and the University of Florida. Many private and community colleges serve the area, and there are numerous jobs-focused, technical and trade schools that offer a diversity of two- and four-year degrees.  Many institutions have popular initiatives focused on rural counties.

North Florida offers world-class healthcare facilities that provide comprehensive care for the whole family. No matter what kind of care you need, you’ll find easy access to it in our region.
